008: Running those blues away

008: Running those blues away

We’ve had one of those days filled with various types of angst. Nothing unusual. Money worries, challenges at work, pre-university anxiety, new school stress and all that kind of jazz all piling on top of me and the girls not making us very happy. We managed to finish the day positiviely though by getting homework and meals prepared early and having time before bed to kick back and chill out.

For the girls chilling out meant watching Biffy Clyro videos on youtube and getting in some reading time. For me it was going for a run. Just after this photo it hammered with rain for the whole 43 minute duration of my 5 miles run and you know what? I loved every bloody minute of it! Nothing feels better than turning up your stereo and running hard in the rain. Not the best of photos but it had started spitting and I wanted to get the camera into the dry and start hitting the pavements (not sure WTF is going on with my sticky our nipples…eeek!).

maiden castle 10 mile idiot

Just had an amazing 10 mile run. It had it all – Tarmac, Trail, Sun, Rain, Sheep, Iron age hill fort, Sheep poo, Steep drops, Killer inclines, Mud, More Sheep, Pot holes, Fog. I loved every minute of it and after completing the maiden castle loop for 5-6 miles I added on a few pavement miles for good measure. A great work out.

It was kinda bitter sweet though as I had also lugged my carefully swaddled DSLR camera around the route in a backpack so I could set up an epic self portrait for my family365 project with the dramatic skies and amazing views from the top of maiden castle behind me. Sadly after running up hills for 4 miles and spotting the perfect vista. I found my camera was without SD card…Shit! Great excuse to repeat the run next week I guess. I’m such an idiot.
